OCTOBER SERVICE WEEK

An Eye Sight Camp which was witnessed by District Governor 411B Lion Haiderali Gangji during his official visit to Lions Clubs in Uganda.

Lions Club of Moshi Kibo, one of the most active club in Tanzania conducted a project at the NGO which looks after people with skin disorders (Albinos) and distributed suitable sun glasses.

Another most active club, Lions Club of Mzizima travelled all the way from Dar es Salaam to Singida in central Tanzania to provide free service in a three-day camp.

15TH OCTOBER: WHITE CANE SAFETY DAY

Throughout the world blind people and those with visual problems, use White Cane as an aid for safety and reliable walk.

In many countries, especially European and the Americas have safety laws regarding White Cane for the blind people. The White Cane, given a well recognized recognition by people, will make a blind person self sufficient in his movement and daily life.

Lions clubs throughout the world recognize 15th October as WHITE CANE SAFETY DAY.

More than 1,400,000 Lions throughout the world carry out activities, including Eye Sight Camps during October World Service Day.

The White Cane has yet to be popularized in several Eastern African countries, leave alone its availability for the blind people.
