LATE LION SAFDER AND MURTAZA JAFFER

The latest photograph that we received from Rotarian Murtaza Jaffer is reproduced here below. Two years ago Murtaza donated one of his kidney to his father and that managed to keep him on his feet for nearly two years. A couple of weeks ago he was in Tanzania and after spending sometime with relatives, friends and Lions Members, he decided to fly to United States to join his family members and be close to his doctors for medical attention.

Unfortunately, he could not stay much longer and that was the end of this well known Veteran PMCC Lion Safder Jaffer.
Late PMCC Lion Safder Jaffer and his son Rotarian Jaffer who runs a business of graphic designing,  printing and advertising in the United States. Safder was well known for his generosity, devotion for service to deserving people and he had a special charm of loving smile. People around him knew of his intelligent speeches ending with morales.

A GREAT LOSS!

DEATH OF SAFDERALI JAFFER A GREAT LOSS

The shocking sad news of the death of Past Multiple Council Chairperson, Safderali Jaffer, is a great loss to the Multiple District 411 and especially to his family members who put in all their maximum efforts during his sickness. He survived for nearly two years with a kidney borrowed from his eldest Rotarian son Murtaza.

Late Lion Safder Jaffer died in the United States over last weekend after his state of health became serious. A couple of weeks ago, a team of close friends from various Lions clubs in Dar es Salaam gathered at his residence to give him a warm “kwaheri” a few hours before he flew to the US. Little did anybody know that this was the time which signified the “beginning of the end”
.
I distinctly remember Late Safderali Jaffer as a kind hearted gentleman apart from a sincere devoted Lion. Seldom did he raise  his eye brows or wrinkled his forehead due to any serious issue. He had appointed me as Zone Chairman during 2004/05 when he worked as District Governor. He never quarreled with anybody, simply because he disarmed people with a  smile of love radiating from his eyes and lips. Indeed we have lost a Good Man…Safderali…."May Allah grant you peace and Jannat (Ameen)".

And lest I forget, he had a great sense of humour and was always fond of relating parables at the end of his speeches. Sometimes he ended it with jokes, taking care of the presence of all classes of people including ladies!
The news about his death came from the Cabinet Secretary Lion Mohamed Mulla in an email letter addressed to many Lions within the sub district and also from District Governor Lion Haider Gangji who displayed his personal sympathy and sorrow to the family and all Lions.

Late Lion Safderali Jaffer will be buried in the US, perhaps close to the grave where his Late mother was buried some two and half years ago (unconfirmed). More news will be relayed as and when we get it.

A SPECIAL LAP TOP!

Moshi, Tanzania: A special laptop for a blind student, Miss Paulina, came all the way from Belgium to Lions Club of Moshi Kibo and finally in the hands of Paulina.

The President of the club Lion Inderjeet S. Rehal, popularly known by his nick name "Nitu" and several other Lion members presented the laptop to her with a message that it was a personal gift from Professor Dr. Wim Blonk. The Professor has been a firm supporter of Msandaka Lions Deaf Centre, a special school for the (deaf & dumb) school going children.

More than two decades ago Professor Wim Blonk and his club Lions Club of Ijsedal Tervuren gave a firm friendly had shake to Lions Club of Moshi Kibo and this sign of friendship  turned out to be more than that of "brotherhood". Joint projects were carried out time and again, largely to assist the school and the students. Last year the school recorded its results as the best school.

The school also has computers with special keys suitable for the blind people to recognize the letters followed by sound.
