MOSHI, TANZANIA: At the age of 75 years old, Prof. Lion Wim Blonk is still going strong with his life-time determination to see that Msandaka Lions Deaf Centre in the northern part of Tanzania improves every day. Since the formation of this special school for the deaf and dumb pupils more than two decades ago, the Professor and his Belgium club, Lions Club of Ijsedal Tervuren have been ardent supporter.

The Professor arrived in Moshi this week with some financial support for construction of dormitory for girls at the Msandaka Lions Deaf Centre. The Lions Club of Moshi Kibo has embarked on the project to build a secondary school for the physically impaired pupils.

Professor Lion Wim Blonk takes photography very seriously and is here in Moshi for a photographic mission of taking pictures of flamingoes and especially hatching and breeding scenes. The display of photographs of flamingo birds in Belgium will be a source of income for Msandaka.

The Professor along with a famous artist Mr. Ward LerNout toured France where they took pictures of famous old buildings such as castles and churches. The photographs were reproduced by the hands of the artist through his brush and oil paint and printed in the form of a book. These are on sale in Europe and the proceeds will go into the coffer of Msandaka.
