GOVERNOR'S ADVICE FOR OCTOBER ACTIVITIES

Dar es Salaam: The following is an important list of activities recommended by District Governor Lion Wilson Ndesanjo for the month of October. Top on the list is October World Service Week, the week dedicated by more than 1,355,824 in serving people throughout the world.

* Implement October World Service Week with community involvement in mind.
* Select entries for Peace Poster Contest, as the deadline is 15th November 2013.
* Observe the World Sight Day on 14th October 2013 by carrying out sight related activities.
* Involve Zone Chairpersons and respective District Officers for orientation and induction of  of new members.
*Organize collection of children's clothes and toys for presentation during Eid Al Haj festivals and Christmas in December.

Governor Lion Wilson Ndesanjo has drawn attention of all club secretaries and presidents to be punctual in remembering to send their activities reports to the respective sources. During the month of September some clubs have failed to obey the rules of the District Contest and this anomaly has been taken into account.

He also pointed out that according to the records, as at end of September, the District 411B had a total membership of 1093 members only and closing balance was 1095. New members inducted and enrolled officially at Lions Clubs International were 14 but dropped members, due to one reason or the other, were 12. Hence, the plus point appeared to be only 2 members.

The Governor has strongly advised Club Presidents and Secretaries to ensure that the back-door for exit must be shut down. And in addition to that recently during his club visitations to Uganda, 27 new members were inducted and the details and remittance of dues to the international must be immediately sent. Similarly, he inducted 12 new members during the Governor's Banquet in Dar es Salaam and these details of new members must also be dispatched to the LCI immediately.
District Governor Lion Willy Ndesanjo points out on page 17 of his Hand Book and refers to October Activities Plan and calls on Club Presidents and Secretaries to follow up the instructions.
