DAR ES SALAAM: Lunch was provided to 240 cancer patients at the Ocean Road Cancer Hospital by Lions Club of Dar es Salaam Mzizima recently, a press statement issued by club Secretary, Lion Bhavini Sonigra reads.
The club also donated cost of medicines worth TShs. 60,000/= to a cancer patient Leonard Mbogo during the event of providing lunch.
Lions Club of Dar es Salaam Amani joined hands with the Mzizima Lions and donated TShs. 30,000/= to a patient Shauriya Ali for treatment charges at the hospital. Food packets and biscuits were given to nearly 150 street children who normally gather at the playing fields for a game of football among themselves.
Lions Club of Mzizima has on its time table to provide lunch and donations to patients at the Ocean Road Cancer Hospital every first Friday of the month. This function was attended and officiated by a District Officer, Zone Chairman Lion Dr. Hussain Hassan, a dental surgeon practicing at his own clinic in Dar es Salaam.
