"SET AND SCORE GOALS," GOVERNOR

DAR ES SALAAM: Governor lion Wilson Ndesanjo advised the Lions to set their goals and make the  goals happen. The advice was given by him at the banquet in his honour organized jointly by seven Dar es Salaam based Lions Clubs at the Boodles Restaurant, Harbour View JM Mall.

He quoted a popular saying: "Some people make things happen. Some watch things happening and others wonder what happened?". He therefore advised and emphasized that Lions must work as a team and thereby can achieve a lot since they are bound together with a common goal.

The Governor's theme during his reign of one year is "Unity In Service" applicable to the growing number of Lions in Sub District 411B (Tanzania-Uganda). Over the last three months or so, he has been advocating his theme which he expects will create more members, membership satisfaction, rekindle new enthusiasm and attain growth in members to stand firmly on its two feet.

During his extempore speech, he reminded the Lions of his two main goals, namely to increase membership with net retention and concentrate on care for community service. The target, he emphasized was to look for not less than 200 Quality Members.

At the colourful banquet on Saturday night, twelve new members were inducted by him and witnessed by over one hundred members and invited guests. They were presented with the pins and membership certificates and eventually accepted into the "Lions' Den" with the traditional thunderous Lion's roarrrrrr, typical of the jungle king.

The Fraternity Dar es Salaam clubs presented the Governor with a large hand-painted-canvass of Lion's bust, unfurled by the First Lady of the district, Florense. The Master of Ceremony Lion Talib Yusufali well described the presentation as "a lion to the Lion".

The Governor's Banquet was presided by Region Chairman Lion Happiness Nkya who also welcomed all the participants, including the newly oriented Lion members. Delicious buffet was seemingly enjoyed by all, especially on the top floor of the JM Mall, overlooking the "harbour of peace" along the busy commercial Samora Avenue decorated with glittering colourful lights (at hot spots).

The live oriental music had every reason to echo beyond the shortest hour of the night or call it the first hour of Sunday the 22nd September.
