DONATIONS FOR LIONS QUEST PROGRAMME IN TANZANIA

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: Lions Quest Programme in Tanzania which has launched an educational programme to discourage misuse of drugs, intoxicants, smoking among youths has been injected a total donation of US $ 9010:00 or approximately TShs. 15,000,000/=

according to the Coordinator of  the project, Past Governor and Past Multiple Council Chairperson Lion Abdul Majid Khan has revealed.

With this healthy donation a matching grant has been applied for from Lions Clubs International Fund. As soon as the funds swell, more workshops for teachers (30 teachers plus six trainers and organizers per workshop) will be organized country-wide.

The project recently accomplished well nine workshops at Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Tanga, Moshi, Arusha, Mwanza, Dodoma and Bagamoyo. In some up-country towns, due to high demand of such workshops, the organizers had to repeat the three-day workshops. Lions Quest Programme is an International Project and it is on record to have helped more than 15,000,000 youths in 85 countries including Tanzania and Uganda.

The major share of donation of US $ 4,850:00 or TShs. 8,200,000/= came from one of Tanzania's top Philanthropist and top level businessman, Dr. Reginald A. Mengi. The Donor has been very close to Lions Clubs in Tanzania and Uganda and has provided numerous assistance to help people in distress. Other Donors included Lion Mushtaq Waliji; Lion Mohammed Mulla; Lion Dr. T.  Jafferji; the Red Onion Restaurant; Lion Abdul Majid Khan; Lions clubs of Mwanza and Dar es Salaam.
Past Governor and Past Multiple Council Chairperson Lion Abdul Majid Khan who is the main hinge between Lions Quest Programme in Tanzania and Lions Clubs International has deeply appreciated Donors who have helped the project in conducting teachers' workshops in the country. He said: " more finance means more muscles to perform even better".
