FREE MEDICAL TREATMENT!

“SEE & SMILE PROJECT”
"If you ask a patient to pay TShs. 60,000/= for an eye surgery, he will prefer not to be treated and continue to suffer," so says the President of Lions Club of Moshi Kibo. This statement may be true to many people who cannot afford to pay for the high medical or surgical fees. Hence the free for all "SEE & SMILE PROJECT".

A team of doctors from Belgium will work alongside with doctors of Mawenzi Hospital of Moshi for treatment  of people suffering from dental,  throat  problems and  eyes check-up in three districts of Kilimanjaro Region.

The ten-days of free medical and surgical treatments is nick-named “ See & Smile Project”, an NGO from Belgium in coordination with the Lions Club of Moshi Kibo.  Mawenzi Hospital in Moshi will work hand in hand with the visiting doctors from Belgium. Similar camps will also be held in Hai and Siha districts  hospitals where it is said that due to weather conditions, there were many cases of eyes ailments.

This is a second project of eye-sight check-up and treatments after the one held in Rombo district where 270 people were provided free treatment and 22 others with complicated problems were operated by the doctors. This project as well was under the auspices of the Lions Club of Moshi Kibo, one of the most active Lions club in East Africa.

The project will take-off from Monday 29th June  and end on 8th July, the President of the club, Lion Inderjit S. Rehal told the MCC Blog.

Twenty-four doctors from the Belgium  NGO “See & Smile” will provide free services, free medicines and reading glasses to patients in Kilimanjaro Region
