FORWARD PLANNER FOR CLUB PRESIDENTS

Lion Talib Yusufali, the Deputy Cabinet Secretary and Personal Assistant to the District Governor has reminded all the club presidents and secretaries regarding the monthly planner recommended by the Governor in his handbook.

Apart from the goals set by respective club presidents, the goals of the International President Lion Barry J. Palmer and those of District Governor Lion Wilson N. Ndesanjo should also be focussed.

The November 2013 projects reads as follows:

* Inform your members,  friends and corporate bodies about the Melvin Jones fellowship programme. Enroll many more members.
*Send your entry for Peace Poster Contest to the District Governor's Office before 15th November 2013.

The Personal Assistant to the District Governor and Eputy Cabinet Secretary Lion Talib Yusufali reminds all Club Presidents and Secretaries of  November projects recommended by the Governor.

* You are about to complete your first half of the Lionistic Year. Do your assessment of what you have achieved so far. Rededicate yourself to achieve what was not achieved in the second half of your term.

DIWALI GREETINGS

"DIWALI GREETINGS" from District Cabinet Secretary 411B Lion Kishore Simzia.

DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA: The Cabinet Secretary Lion Kishore Simzia on behalf of  District Governor has conveyed "DIWALI GREETINGS" to all Lion Members,  their families and general members of the public. The Hindu religious celebrations will be held on Sunday 3rd October throughout the world.

District Cabinet Secretary and Lady Renuka have conveyed DIWALI GREETINGS on behalf the District Governor Lion Wilson N. Ndesanjo to all Lions Members and members of the public.

GOVERNOR'S CLUB VISITATIONS -UGANDA

District Governor Lion Wilson Ndesanjo (standing right) visits the nursery school sponsored by Lions Club of Bushenyi during his official  club visitations programme in Uganda.

During the Governor's official visit to Lions Club of Kasese, his entourage inspected the newly constructed Kasese Orphanage Centre. Governor Wilson Ndesanjo (4th from right) says in his Handbook: "We as dedicated Lions have an enormous opportunity of services to provide to the communities surrounding us."

The District Governor Lion Wilson Ndesanjo and First Lady Florense Ndesanjo visited almost all the 21 clubs and Leo Clubs of Uganda. The club visitations programme was carried out in three phases which began on 17th August and ended on 25th October.

"YOU ARE OUR AMBASSADORS", GRADUATES TOLD

NAIROBI, KENYA: The three-day workshop of  Regional Lions Leadership Institute for Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia and the Seychelles was held in Nairobi to brush up the leadership quality of lion members from the five countries.

After a hard-work of three days with some break and entertainments, the RLLI Graduates were told that they were supposed to act as Ambassadors to propagate Lionism in their respective areas.

In all fifty Lions graduated from the leadership training organized by Lions International Clubs and District 411 under the supervision of GMT Leader PDG/PMCC Lion Mustafa Dungarwalla and PDG and GMT leader and trainer Lion "Pape" (so known popularly) but otherwise Lion Rajinder Sembi from Nairobi.

The architect of the programme, Mustafa Dungarwalla told the respective graduates of RLLI: "Always remember that someone paid for this training, our Multiple District, your district and most of all LCI has invested in you. You are our Ambassadors in your community.

He went on: " Please tell others in your clubs and in your zones what they have missed when the next RLLI comes up."

The fifty participants from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia and the Seychelles who graduated as trained leaders at the three days Regional Lions Leadership Institute organized by LCI, District 411 under supervision of PDG/PMCC and GMT leader Lion Murtaza Dungarwalla (seated centre white cap) and fourth right also seated PDG/PMCC and veteran trainer Lion Rajinder "Pape" Sehmbi.

PEACE POSTERS CONTEST AWARDS DAY

DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA: The Peace Poster Contest organized by Lions Club of Dar es salaam Mzizima for seven schools based in Dar es Salaam and Mwanza was a very scuccesful event. The paintings submitted by seven schools depicted the theme  "OUR WORLD, OUR FUTURE" via their own intelligence, their own understanding through multi-colour oil paints or water paints.

The exciting award giving day was held on Saturday afternoon at Alliance Francaise in the city and attended by participating schools from Dar es Salaam and Mwanza. The CG was District Officer of Tanzania for Peace Poster Contest.

SEVEN SCHOOLS PARTICIPATE IN PEACE POSTER CONTEST

The world-wide Peace Poster Contest this year with the theme "OUR WORLD, OUR FUTURE" was organized by Lions Club of Dar es Salaam Mzizima with involvement of seven schools based in Dar es Salaam and Mwanza. The best art work of the students were selected and presented with certificates and prizes by the club through the Chief Guest Lion Sarah Qadri, in charge of peace posters contest.

The award giving ceremony and get together was held at the Alliance Francaise in the city centre where the best two applications turned out to be Joseph Bisanda of Academic International Primary School and runner-up Ananya Jain of International School of Tanganyika.

The schools which participated were Academic International Primary School, French School, Atlas Primary School, International School of Tanganyika, Don Bosco Primary School from Mwanza. 

The President of the Mzizima Club, Lion Mustafa Kudrati had all the reasons to be contended with choice of the best performers and the large turn out of school children and Lion Leaders at the Alliance Francaise on last Saturday afternoon. 

Lion Mustafa Kudrati thanked the Convenor of the programme lion Saifuddin Nagri who has been handling this portfolio for the last four years, coordinator of the event Ernest Mtaya and Judge Frank Yustard of Dar Art Youth (DAY), all the participating school and the Chief Guest Lion Sarah Qadri.

GOVERNOR'S CLUB VISITATIONS IN UGANDA

Governor Lion Wilson N. Ndesanjo has successfully completed visitations of all the Lions Clubs and Leo Clubs in Uganda and a quick assessment indicates that the Governor's District Goals and that of the International President Barry Palmer are being well followed and implemented.

The Uganda sector of Sub District 411B has a strength of 21 clubs and several Leo Clubs which are being involved time-and-again in projects either conducted by the sponsoring clubs or sometimes on their own.The top leadership of the sub district and the Governor himself have been working on increasing more quality members and at least opening of four new clubs this Lionistic Year.

Since the Lionistic Year started in July this year, 93 new members were recorded but the impressive number sizzled down to net gain of only 17 members due to the fact that 67 Lions left their clubs due one reason or the other. All along emphasis has been on "closing the exit door" except for logical reasons.

The Sub District 411B has been short of the required minimum number of 1250 members so as to be recognized and keep afloat as a sub district. 

The District Governor's entourage was well impressed to install 12 new members to the existing 78 active Lions of Lions Club of Kampala Central. This is the biggest and most active club of 90 members in East Africa. The target is to have another ten more Quality Members and also to open a branch club this year.

Uganda Sector has already fulfilled the Governor's dream of forming two new clubs during his term of reign as Governor. 

The Governor is now in Dar es Salaam for another three weeks or so and will embark on club visitations programme in Tanzania begining with the first lap in northern Tanzania. The first lap will begin on 21st November and it will be a visit to Lions Club of Kilimanjaro, the first club where the Governor began his Lionistic career and the Kilimanjaro Region being his original birth area. After visiting some clubs in Moshi and Arusha he will drive to Tanga, a coastal historic town where he will see the activities of the Tanga Club.

Governor Lion Wilson Ndesanjo planting a tree as a campaign to make Uganda look even more greener than now. He was Chief Guest of Lions Club of Kampala Central, the biggest club in East Africa with 90 active members and planning to hit the target of 100 Quality Members and a branch club.
