GOVERNOR CONGRATULATES DAR ES SALAAM LIONS

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: A message of congratulations to all the Lions Clubs of Dar es Salaam was conveyed by District Governor Lion Wilson N. Ndesanjo for conducting a Quality Project: "distribution of food to families affected by heavy rains in Dar es Salaam recently."

The Project which was supported by donation of US $ 10,000:00 from Lions Clubs International Fund involved participation  of all the seven Dar es Salaam based Lions Clubs. Nearly 650 families received a variety of food ration. Some more families will continue to receive the ration next Sunday in Dar es Salaam.
Families which were badly affected by heavy rains recently in Dar es Salaam, gathered at the Green Acres School where Lions Clubs assisted them with basic food rations. The total cost of the project was TShs. 16,500,000/=, a donation from Lions Clubs International Fund.

It was reported that more than sixty Lions and some of their family members participated in distributing sacks of rations to head of the families.

The Governor and some of top leaders of District 411B joined hands in working as a team. They all gathered at the Green Acres School compound at Magomeni, just a few kilometers away from the city centre. Buses and private motor vehicles were used to reach the gathering and distribution point.

The Governor in his message congratulated all the Lions and in particular focused his message on the First Vice District Governor Elect Lion Haiderali Gangji for spearheading the project and Lion Rizwan Qadri for taking the initiative to apply for the donation to the LCIF at a very short notice.
