GOVERNOR HONOURS BEST LIONS, LEADERS AND CLUBS



CLUBS & LIONS RECOGNIZED FOR GOOD JOB

Among 1230 Lions and 43 clubs in Tanzania  and Uganda, the District Governor Lion Wilson N. Ndesanjo after giving  careful consideration and going through  track record, best clubs and hard  working Lions were given appreciation trophies and awards.

As the curtain rolled down after four days of  activities which included fellowship and conferences of  Multiple District 411 encompassing five countries namely Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia and the Seychelles, the most exciting events were  “Awards Day” and Election of  top leaders.

As in all the past years, judging the best Lions and best clubs has always been a delicate decision but in the spirit of Lionism, all presentations appear to be agreeable and conclusive. Not to mention the huge amount of expenditure incurred, the Governor presented 76 Awards to all lions Clubs and Individual Lions and to Cabinet, District Officers and leaders who spearheaded  the sub district close to 80 awards.

The recognition of Lion of the Year was awarded to Cabinet Secretary Lion Kishore Simzia who, all along carried the heavy duties of the Secretariat of the Sub District 411B. His wife Lion Renuka Simzia was also appreciated for giving a strong support to her Spouse.

The First Lady, Lion Florense Ndesanjo who accompanied the Governor in  all his Club Visitations programme and participated actively in seminar and forums whether in Hamburg or Kathmandu, she was always along-side with him. So, the Secretariat decided to award her a special token of appreciation.

The Life Time Achievement Trophy went to veteran PDG/PMCC Lion Abdul Majid Khan.

 The Best Club in Uganda, Kampala Central; the Best Treasurer in Uganda, Lion Laqet A. Monica of L.C. Gulu Metropolitan; Best Secretary in Uganda Lion Lydia Ibingira of Kampala Central; Best President in Uganda, Lion Ida Nanteza of Kasmpala Host.

The Best President in Tanzania, Lion Pushpa Shah of Pwani Club; Best Secretary in Tanzania, Lion Sheerin Liyakath of  Mwanza Valentine; Best Treasurer in Tanzania Lion Vrajlal Parmar of Dar es Salaam City; Best Club in Tanzania Lions Club of Moshi Kibo.

Best Club of District Lions Club of Mzizima; Best Treasurer of District Lion Patrick I Lukat, Kampala Host; Best Secretary of District Lion Rizwan Qadri of Dar es Salaam Pwani; Best President in the District Lion Eng. Dans Naturinda of Kampala Central.

More Information: International President of Lions Club International, Barry J. Palmer sent his personal Appreciation Certificate to eight Lions in Sub District 411B at the recommendation of the Governor Wilson Ndesanjo. They are: Lion Sayed Abdul Hai; Lion Kishore  Simzia; Lion Jayesh Raichura; Lion Jessie Mnguto; Lion Inderjit S. Rehal; Lion Edgar Mbahamiza; Lion Benon Katata and Lion Vinny Dawda.

Majority of the Lions and their families returned to their respective stations on Sunday night, ready to take up their usual work or business duties. In Dar es Salaam, those who left by air via lake-side town of Mwanza to Kisumu, arrived in Dar es Salaam an hour before midnight.
