NICKNAME "BWANA MAJI"

DAR ES SALAAM: The soft-spoken Lion Jayesh Raichura of Lions Club of Dar es Salaam Mzizima is popularly called "Bwana Maji" by school students of Msimbazi Primary School.

Reason? On behalf of his club, he has taken the initiative of donating approximately TShs. 100,000,000/= in seeing that water supply is adequately available at the school. Life at the Msimbazi Primary School and adjacent to it a school for blind pupils was unbearable. The gardens were dry and pupils  were desperate during recess times when they were engaged in sports activities.

Life is now much better for the pupils and the staff members. When ever Lion Jayesh Raichura and his spouse Bina appear in the school to check the water supply system, he is addressed by his nickname "Bwana Maji" meaning Mr. Water.

In Dar es Salaam, twelve schools and two hospitals have benefited from his donation, in terms of water supply. He believes religiously that providing water to a thirsty person is not only a piety duty but a good duty of a Lion Member. He is proud and satisfied  that he had a good opportunity to serve in this project through his Mzizima Lions Club.

"Bwana Maji" Lion Jayesh Raichura busy assembling the submersible automatic water pump for a water supply project at one of the twelve schools where he has ensured adequate water supply in Dar es salaam.

"Bwana Maji" Lion Jayesh Raichura seems to happy at seeing the abundant gushing water at Msimbazi Prfimary School where for several years the school was without water. Hundreds of school students and teachers are now comfortable with adequate water supply.
