JOINT INSTALLATION CEREMONIES

THREE CLUBS GET NEW LEADERS FOR 2015/2016

The Installation Ceremony of leaders of  three   Dar es Salaam based Lions Clubs,  including the largest one in Tanzania, was ceremonially conducted by the Past Governor Lion Abdul Majid Khan at New Africa Hotel.  One of the oldest club, Dar es Salaam City,  which has produced eminent leaders including Lion Abdul Majid Khan as PDG & Multiple Council Chairperson, has currently 47 members surpassing all the twenty two other clubs in Tanzania.

The three clubs which were officially installed with new leaders for the year 2015/16 were Lions Club of Dar es Salaam Pwani, Lions Club of Dar es Salaam Amani  and L.C. of Dar es Salaam City. Amani is being led by a female President, Lion Shenaz Noray while the City Club is led by Lion Kishore Simzia who only two  years  ago had conducted a heavy duty of Cabinet Secretary under Governor Lion Wilson Ndesanjo. Pwani Club is led by President Anney Steven Sumu.

In his installation speech, Lion Abdul Majid Khan cautioned that all eyes of East African Lions Members  will be focused in Dar es Salaam which is currently the head office of Sub District 411B (Tanzania-Uganda). The Multiple Council Chaiperson, Lion Wilson Ndesanjo; the District Governor Lion Haiderali Gangji; the Second Vice District Governor Lion Sayed Rizwan Qadri all hail from Dar es Salaam.

“The top leaders of the District 411B are from Dar es Salaam and hence your performance is not only very sensitive but progress of the District whether in positive or negative direction will greatly depend on you all,” Lion Abdul Majid Khan cautioned. Lion Khan has been in Lionism for the past forty years and holds the crucial post of Global Membership Team  District Coordinator for seven years.

The District 411B now has membership of just over 1250, the figure which speaks about the positive performance of the Ugandan Immediate Past Governor, Lady Night Ndyarugahi during 2014/2015 Lionistic Year.

District Governor Lion Haiderali Gangji addressed the August gathering by reminding the clubs to increase more members and open new Lions and LEOS clubs in Tanzania and Uganda. He was informed of four new members, now undergoing orientation, who will join L.C. of Amani in few days to come.

Lion Anney Steven Semu was installed as President of Dar es Salaam Pwani. He takes over from Lion Collin Frisch.

After the installation ceremony, live music was performed by an African Singer who sings fluently Kiswahili, Indian and English songs, all with a touch of sad romantic songs. Tasty dinner (supper) was prepared by the New Africa Hotel Chefs. The entire ceremony was well conducted by Lion Shofiuddin Babul from Amani Club.
