CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FROM GOVERNOR

DAR ES SALAAM: District Governor Lion Wilson Ndesanjo has conveyed a Condolence Message to his counterpart, District Governor of 411A Lion Teja S. Kalsi and also spoke personally to PID Dr. Lion Manoj Shah expressing dismay about the tragical incidents which took place in Nairobi's Westgate shopping centre. So far, the shooting spree at the crowded shopping centre reported to be done by Al-Shabab militant group claimed 62 deaths and nearly 170 injured people.

The latest news about the ordeal is that the defence forces of Kenya has managed to take full control of the shopping centre.

Governor Wilson Ndesanjo said that he sent a condolence message to his counterpart, Governor Teja S. Kalsi and expressed on behalf of all Lions of District 411B (Tanzania & Uganda) our heartfelt sorrow to the bereaved families and also those innocent people who were involved in the shooting spree by the Al Shabab group from Somalia.

The Lions in Nairobi, led by top brass of Multiple District 411 PID Dr. Manoj Shah assisted by PID Dr. S.P. Amin, Dr. Lion Manilal Dodhia were the first to respond to the emergency situation by treating and taking care of the dead and wounded victims. The hospital M.P. Shah Hospital is close to the proximity of Westgate and the victims were brought to the hospital for emergency attention.

More Lion members joined in to give hand and they included volunteers, medical personnel and nurses, and family members.

"We faced a lot of challenges during the first few hours since the attack by Al Shabab started on Saturday (21st Sept) mid-day hours," Dr. Manoj said.

PDG/PMC Lion Abdul Majid Khan also sent a letter of condolence to Governor Lion Teja S. Kalsi and expressed his sorrow and sympathy to the people who were involved innocently in the shoot out prompted by the militant group of Al Shabab from Somalia.
