LIONS QUEST WORKSHOP IN DODOMA

Dodoma, Tanzania: The second Lions Quest Workshop was officially opened by the Zonal Chief Inspector of Schools, Mrs. Regina Arevo in Dodoma, the political capital of Tanzania. Thirty teachers from Primary and Secondary schools based in Dodoma will receive training on how to educate and build the character of children to be good citizens of the country.

The Lions Quest programme is an international educational campaign in the effort to fight against the misuse of drugs, smoking or chewing tobacco, consumption of excessive alcoholo and other bad habits which jeopardizes the lives of youths. 

The first such a workshop was held a couple of months ago and after repeated request by the educational authorities, the Steering Committee of the Lions Quest in Tanzania agreed to hold the second workshop which will be held on 21st November to 23rd November. 

The main organizers of the workshop Past District Governor and Coordinator of the programme Lion Abdul MMajeed Khan and Convenor Lion Mohammed Mulla were at Dodoma a day earlier to organize the workshop. The two trainers are Lion Alex Mathew and Chris Chinyala who have been conducting the training sessions.

The Zonal Director for Schools for Dodoma and Singida Mr. Richard Kabudi was also present at the opening ceremony session.

The next workshop will be held in Tanga.
