MZIZIMA CONDUCTS HEALTH CHECK-UP

DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA: A joint project to mark the World Diabetes Day was held jointly by Lions Club of Mzizima and Tanzania Diabetes Association in Dar es Salaam last weekend. Along with this project, an opthalmic camp was organized at Msimbazi Mseto Primary School.

A spokesman of the club, Lion Bhavini Sonigra said that at the end of the day, 248 people were checked for Blood Pressure, sugar level in blood, height, weight. Doctors were consulted for further management of medical problems.

Thirteen staff of Tanzania Diabetes Association and 14 volunteers from medical colleges in dar es Salaam came to assist during both the projects. A special van fully equipped with medical and laboratory equipments was used to conduct the camp.

Ten senior members of the Mzizima club and high ranking district officers were also at the camp. The entire contingent was led by 2nd Vice District Governor Lion Haider Gangji, Mzizima President Lion Mustafa Kudrati and Region Chairman Lion Happiness Nkya.

The two Zone Chairpersons, Lion Dr. Omari Bakari and Lion Dr. Hussain Hassan also assisted in conducting the services.
