2nd CABINET MEETING SUB DISTRICT 411B

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: The marathon five-hour 2nd Cabinet Meeting under the Chairmanship of District Governor Lion Wilson N. Ndesanjo was concluded in Dar es Salaam on Saturday afternoon. The Cabinet Meeting was officially opened by International Director of  LCI, Lion Alexis Vincent Gomes.

During his speech, the International Director paid tribute to the Lions of Tanzania and Uganda. He suggested that after consulting the City Authority, it was an opportune time to erect a suitable Lion Monument as a landmark of achievement by Lions Members. He further elaborated that there should be a terms of reference and to agree upon  as to what categories of Lions Members names should be engraved on the monument.

Attendees at the Cabinet Meeting reacted with a loud positive agreement to the idea and Governor Wilson Ndesanjo supported the idea with a positive acknowledgement. He said that programme for marking the Centenary of Lionism in Tanzania is in the pipeline and prominent leaders in Sub District 411B (Tanzania-Uganda) have been named to spearhead the celebration sometime during 2017.

The Second Cabinet Meeting also received the report of achievements made during the last six months. It was presented by Governor in an attractive A3 colourful  art paper which covered in a nutshell the numerous projects, big and small, with national and international links, long term and short term projects. It was unanimously approved.

Zone and Region Chairpersons also presented their reports of projects and regular meetings carried out by about forty clubs in Tanzania and Uganda. Despite dropped members, the statistics of membership was on the rise, short of just few members to hit the target of 1250 in both the countries.

Some members suggested that time of five-hours was too short to discuss exhaustively all that was meant to be discussed. The suggestion was recorded.

Later after adjournment, the Cabinet and District Officers had a fellowship lunch at the Tiffany Diamond Hotel along Morogoro Road.
