THIRTY TEACHERS GRADUATE IN TANGA

Tanga, Tanzania: A three-day educational programme for thirty primary and secondary school teachers was successfully accomplished under the Lions Quest Programme at the coastal town of Tanga in Tanzania.

The three-day seminar was spearheaded by the Veteran Lion PDG/PMCC Lion Abdul Majid Khan, Convenor of the programmes in Tanzania and Uganda, District Officer Lion Mohammed Mulla and two Trainers Lion Alex Mathew and Lion Christopher Chinyala.

This was the second time for the organizers to hold the workshop in Tanga. Similar workshops for teachers and also for some Lion Members were held in Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Dodoma, Morogoro and Mwanza. More such events are in the pipeline.

The workshops are tailored made for thirty teachers and are conducted for three days consecutively. The Lions Clubs International Fund provide financial assistance such as  mobilisation of the workshops, promotion and advocacy, transport of books to the workshop destination, trainers' fees, transport expenses of trainers, expenses for lunch and tea breaks, conference package inclusive of stationary and training material.

At the end of the course, all the teachers were presented with Attendance Certificates by the Chief Guest, City Education Officer.
