HEART DISEASE PATIENTS OFF TO INDIA

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: Seventeen heart disease patients, most of them young boys and girls, flew to India for treatment of chronic heart disease. His Excellency the High Commissioner of India to Tanzania, Hon. Debnath Shaw and District Governor Lion Wilson Ndesanjo were among prominent people to bid farewell to the patients and their escorts.

Lions Club of Dar es Salaam Host led by club President Nureen Nathoo and accompanied by several senior club members were also at the Julius Nyerere International Airport. Zone Chairman Lion Moez Bakari who is the immediate District Officer supervisor for the club came to the airport to say "kwaheri" to the young lads and adults.

The Indian High Commission has been providing priority  cooperation to the Lions Clubs in facilitating viza applications and other assistance. Initially, before the patients are sent abroad, the Regency Health Centre, under Lion Dr. Rajni Kanabar prepare their final medical reports and keep a close track with the hospitals in India for further surgical or medical treatment. Dr. Rajni Kanabar is District Convenor for Open Heart Surgery, Heart Awareness & Hospital Project for Sub District 411B.
