INTRODUCTORY LECTURE ON ORTHOPAEDIC ISSUES

The Associate Vice President of Corporate & International Business Development Madame Gouri Sardesai delivering an introductory speech on treatment and consultation of minor or major orthopaedic surgery at the Lokmanya Hospital. The hospital was started 30 years ago and is now expanded to six Lokmanya Group of Hospitals in Pune,  India. An introductory lecture on orthopaedic  treatment (related to bones and joints) was given to Lion Members immediately after the Zone Meeting in Dar es Salaam. 

The speaker from Lokmanya Hospital was Madame Gouri Sardesai holding the post of Associate Vice President of Corporate & International Business Development. The hospital is well known, not only in India but in many developed and under-developed countries specially for consultation and treatment of bones and joint problems in human body.

Lokmanya Hospital is located at Pune, Nigdi and has 100 bed hospital which has been structured to cater for advanced orthopaedic procedures. It has five fully-equipped operation theatres showcasing state of the art technology.

According to Madame Gouri Sardesai, the hospital specializes in Joint Replacement for hip and knee and also major spinal corrections and disc surgeries among many other treatments.

Lokmanya Hospital began thirty years ago as a brain-child of internationally known surgeon Dr. N.V. Vaidya. He is a pioneer of Emergency Medical Services in India and Medical Tourism in Pune. Over the last couple of decades, the progressive trend of the hospital and the energetic team of highly qualified doctors and administrators, resulted in establishment of not less than six Lokmanya Group of Hospitals.

Latest information received by the Governor’s Blog is that a team of 2-3 highly qualified surgeons from Lokmanya are expected to arrive in Dar es Salaam on 28th January.

The arrangements for the introductory lecture by the visiting Associate Vice President, Madame Gouri Sardesai accompanied by two doctors was facilitated by Sub Treasurer (T) Lion Yusuf Dalal.
