EYES & EARS CAMPS KIGOMA

Kigoma, Tanzania. Lions Club of Mzizima in cooperation with Starkey Foundation from the United States and the Kigoma Regional Medical Office conducted Eyes & Ears Camps at the lake-side town of Kigoma. More than 1800 cases were registered, some treated at the site while others requiring intensive management were referred to bigger hospitals.

The Secretary of the club Lion Bhavini Sonigra said that the club has incurred estimated expenditure of TShs. 30,000,000/= to organize and manage two-days of hectic service at the hospital in Kigoma. Ten Lion Members of Mzizima and nine specialists (some doctors) came from the United States of America and formed as a team for the Kigoma mission.

Without taking any time to rest, the club embarked on another project: "The Peace Poster Contest". The main objective of the international peace poster competition, usually held in schools and other institutions for young people, is to spread the message of peace and international understanding. Peace Poster entries are selected each year, representing the work of approximately 400,000 young participants worldwide.

Peace Poster Competition, the attempt to spread the much needed world peace and international understanding through out the world. Almost forty one Lions Club in Tanzania and Uganda conduct these competitions in schools. The deadline for completing the project is 15th November. 
Winners are usually posted via internet, the media and the works are exhibited for public viewing. Cash prizes are also given to the winners.
Kigoma: After cataract operation, a patient recuperating. the Eyes & Ears Camps were held on 27th and 28th of September at the lake-side town of Kigoma, on extreme western side of the big country Tanzania.
