DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA: The Brien Holden Vision Institute strongly believes and practices "vision for everyone ...and everywhere". Here in Tanzania, the institute will be doing a research work on understanding of eyes related diseases, a project financed by Lions Clubs International. The research work will be done in the district of Bariadi.
During the two-day "World Sight Day" organized by Lions Club of Dar es Salaam Pwani and seven others organizations, the Brien Holden Institute joined hands and also organized a pavilion at the Eye Camp. The institute distributed booklets, newsletters, pamphlets and answered questions posed by members of the public.
The Chief Guest at the "World Sight Day", Tanzania Minister for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Hussain Mwinyi along with other high dignitaries, visited the pavilion and spent some time at the stand.
The Brien Holden Institute is one of the largest and most successful non-profit social enterprises in the history of eye-care. It was first established in 1985 (formerly Institute for Eye Research) and has been focusing on the development of superior vision correction products for the treatment of refractive errors.
Last year, the institute made a major investment in the development of medical device that revolutionized detection, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and other conditions related to general health.
