NATIONAL WORLD SIGHT DAY IN DAR ES SALAAM

DAR ES SALAAM: The National World Sight Day will be held in Dar es Salaam on 9th and 10th of October at Mnazi Mmoja open ground in Dar es Salaam from 7.00am to 6.00pm.

The activity will provide sight related services to the residents of Dar es Salaam such as refraction, treatment, provide reading glasses and general medicines on prescription. Those found to be suffering from cataract problems will be given further management advice by doctors.

The Chief Guest at the venue will be the Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam Region, Hon. Said M. Sadiq. The District Governor Lion Wilson N. Ndesanjo is also expected to participate in the event.

 The campaign will be spearheaded by Lions Club of Dar es Salaam Pwani and six other Lions Clubs in Dar es Salaam have been requested to join hands and provide facilities as a joint venture of the project. Lions Club of Mzizima with a large team of ten members led by Club President Mustafa Kudrati have returned to Dar es Salaam after a big Ear & Sight Camps in Kigoma end of last month. The Starkey Foundation from USA and the Kigoma Regional Hospital worked hand in hand in the colossal project.

The Secretary of L.C. Dar es Salaam Pwani Lion Sayed Rizwan Qadri stated that a procession has been organized on 10th October from Southern Sun Hotel to Mnazi Mmoja begining 8.30am. The other organizations which will participate in the procession and the eye camps are Shree Hindu Mahila Mandal of Dar es Salaam and the Welfare Association of Pakistanis in Tanzania.
